Since 2005, Marina Bay has been the focal point of New Year’s Eve celebrations in Singapore. Late on the evening of 31 December, crowds gather at the locale to count down to midnight and enjoy fireworks spectacular to mark the end of one year and begin the new.
Pico worked closely with URA as well as various government bodies responsible for security and other important matters. What emerged was a scheme with two complementary elements; the addition of new features and the enhancement of existing ones at the 3,600,000 sq. m. Marina Bay site, and the integration of partner events and activities around Marina Bay and the Civic District into a ‘Night Out at Countdown’.
